Valencia CF travelled to the Canary Islands, to take on UD Las Palmas on Saturday, February 10th at 9 pm kick-off (CET) at the Estadio Gran Canaria on Matchday 24 of LaLiga EA Sport.
CF had a slow start to the game with the hosts dictating possession forcing Valencia CF on the back foot in the in the early goings of the first half at the Estadio Gran Canaria struggling to warm up into the game.
The first Valencia CF fell to Hugo Duro over the 10-minute mark, but his tame effort was easily gathered by Vallés and minutes later Pepelu tried his luck from long range twice to try and catch the opposition keeper out.
The game stagnated halfway through the game with both sides finding it hard to create chances in the way of danger. However, Christian Mosquera came mighty close to opening the scoring in the latter stages of the half with a sprawling header following a fine Pepelu delivery.
The first half finished goalless with all to play for in the second half.
The second stanza followed the same script with Valencia CF sitting back and waiting to hit on the break and the home side enjoying the majority of ball possession with chances few and far between.
Peter Federico made his Valencia CF first-team debut midway through the second half to replace the Moroccan international Selim Amallah.
Moments later Rubén Baraja shuffled his pack further with a double substitution with Javi Guerra and Fran Pérez making way for Sergi Canos and Jesús Vázquez respectively.
Jesús Vázquez came close to scoring from long range following a fine deflection into his path great whose shot went straight at the keeper.
UD Las Palmas broke the deadlock on the stroke of full time through Ález Suárez and Marc Cardona made it 2-0 to UD Las Palmas deep into stoppage time. It was too little too late and Valencia CF fell to their first loss this calendar year away at UD Las Palmas at the Estadio Gran Canaria.
Valencia CF will welcome Sevilla FC on Saturday, February 17th at 9 pm kick-off time at Mestalla on Matchday 25 of LaLiga EA Sports.
